“Marknad i Fisherman’s Village” was first published on my Swedish Blog.
The best market on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, is without doubt the one in Fisherman’s Village – needless to rub it in, but I simply love Fisherman’s Village. By far the best beach on the island.
As I’ve previously written every beach on the island has their own market on different days, or rather nights, because I’m referring to night markets. Starts around 5 p.m and ends at 11 p.m.
Fridays are Fisherman’s Village evenings – the best!
The beach is the best and so is its market. It’s the largest, has the best to offer, and even though most of the sales people travel all around the markets on the island, it still feels as this market offers the best quality compared to the other markets. Not to mention it’s the biggest! Oh, I might’ve mentioned that already. ^.^
So, what’s for sale?
Well, everything really. Lamps, jewellery, clothes, food as far as you can see – from Thai to Mexican, sunglasses, speakers, well, yeah, you name it – they’ve got it!
Their prices start a bit on the high end here compared to the rest of the island, but all you have to do is haggle, haggle… I’ve noticed many also started selling for “fixed prices” and they don’t really like this game of haggling generally speaking here in Fisherman’s Village, but if you’re stubborn and friendly most things work out.
So, if you find yourselves on Koh Samui a Friday you have to visit this market! It’s a must!
